Centered on the theme of “Jining Building a New Hub for the Full New Energy Industry Chain,” the event focused on multiple sub-sectors including power batteries, energy storage equipment, photovoltaic components, and power electronics. It highlighted the achievements of enterprises along the chain in technological innovation, collaborative support, and market expansion, showcasing Jining’s vision for a new energy industry chain ecosystem driven by leading enterprises, featuring upstream-downstream coordination, and cluster development.
At the press conference, Huang Jinjian, Deputy General Manager of Xiaolu Lithium Energy (Jining) Co., Ltd., introduced the company. Established in July 2019 in the Jining Economic and Technological Development Zone, Xiaolu Lithium Energy (Jining) is a national-level high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D, production, sales, and application of sodium-ion and lithium-ion batteries. It has received numerous honors, including the Provincial Gazelle Enterprise and Provincial Specialized, Refined, Unique, and Innovative Enterprise designations. Xiaolu Lithium Battery’s products feature high capacity, high energy density, lighter weight, greater durability, longer cycle life, enhanced adaptability to extreme environments, and higher safety standards. They are widely used in small electric vehicles, residential energy storage systems, medical equipment, and IoT devices.
Reporters have learned that Xiaolu Lithium Battery has upgraded its 18650 lithium-ion battery production equipment for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024, with current daily production capacity reaching 400,000 batteries; In 2024, the company began construction of a production line with an annual capacity of 1 GWh for large-cylindrical, full-tab 32140 sodium-ion and lithium-ion batteries. This line is currently the first in the province capable of mass-producing 32140 batteries, with a daily output of 70,000 units.
As a key player in Jining’s new energy industry, Xiaolu Lithium Battery’s next phase of development will focus on three key dimensions: enhancing economic efficiency, creating social value, and empowering the regional industry:
Economic Efficiency: Developing High-Efficiency Energy Storage Cell Projects
The company will prioritize the development of 32140 cylindrical energy storage cells, launching a construction project for an annual production capacity of 4 GWh of energy storage cells in the second half of 2025. Two new 120-PPM sodium-lithium battery production lines will be added. Upon completion, the project will have a daily production capacity of 280,000 32140 energy storage cells. With 26 production days per month, the project will deliver 7.28 million cells to the warehouse monthly.
Social Benefits: Building a Green Energy Service Network
Over the next three years, we plan to create 400 new jobs, with technical positions accounting for over 60% of the total; this initiative will help attract local talent back to Jining. We will collaborate with Jining Technician College to establish a “New Energy Class,” which will produce 100 skilled professionals annually.
Regional Development: Revitalizing the Local Industrial Ecosystem
We will cultivate local supporting enterprises in materials, equipment, and components to establish a complete industrial chain spanning “raw materials – battery cells – modules – systems,” thereby reducing logistics costs and enhancing supply chain resilience. In collaboration with universities and research institutions, we will establish R&D centers to advance breakthroughs in key technologies, forming an integrated innovation system that unites industry, academia, research, and application. We will seek support from government industrial funds to establish dedicated incubation funds, attract high-quality projects to the region, and foster a symbiotic ecosystem where upstream and downstream sectors coexist. Collaborate with vocational schools to provide targeted training for skilled workers, attract high-end R&D teams, and create a closed-loop system for “recruiting, cultivating, and retaining talent.” Drive demand across the supply chain through demonstration projects (such as energy storage power stations and battery-swapping networks) to foster a virtuous cycle of “market-manufacturing-service.” Implement full-lifecycle management covering “production-use-recycling” to promote efficient resource utilization and enhance the industry’s sustainability.
